It was here on Patmos that St.John was inspired to write the Book of Revelation or Apocalypse after being exiled here between 95 and 97 A.D. The impressive holy monastery of Patmos was founded by the monk Chritodoulas Letrines in honour of the Apostle, and is well worht a visit just for the views alone.
