create villas - Alvor
A wonderful location for villa holiday in the Algarve.'Create villas' currently feature The Villa Trinta Oito 38 in Alvor which is a large villa making it the perfect base for a large family or groups of friends to enjoy a villa holiday in the Algarve.
Alvor has an interesting history and it is widely believed to have been founded by the Carthaginians. The Romans originally gave it the name Ipses and it was considered an important port and was allowed its own currency. During the time of the Moors, who first occupied the area in 716AD, they gave it the name of Albur. The town then passed through both Portuguese and Moors ownership several times until 1250AD, when it was finally conquered by the Christians. King Dom Joll, who is regarded as an outsuanding historic Portuguese King, is recorded as dying within the town's walls in 1485, one of Alvor's many claims to fame.
Although this ancient coastal village is now very popular with holiday makers, its labyrinth of narrow streets has kept development to a minimum. Many of these streets are now lined with bars with live music and an array of restaurants. The village occupies an enviable location facing a natural lagoon opening onto the sea. The recently improved quayside has a series of bars and coffee shops which offer an ideal opportunity to sit and watch the sun go down over the lagoon with a cocktail in hand, whilst waiting for your freshly caught fish dinner to be cooked on open grills.
