Today Cala D’or is a modern purpose built resort that has grown from a small traditional Mallorcan fishing village, now covering over 4km of sandy coves. Although the town has grown, it still retains its fishing-village charm. The largest of the coves is Cala Llonga, which has been developed into a large marina, while the focal point of the town centre is around the area of Cala Gran which has a varied selection of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. The beach at Cala Gran is the largest in the town and boasts clear, warm waters, while Cala D’or has its own smaller beach.
